My Travel Favorites and Must Haves

I travel a lot, I mean not as much as some people, but more than average twenty-one year old. So this blog is to help you pack for vacation.

Arguably the most important part of packing is making sure you have everything in your carry on that you could possibly need, whether it is an hour flight or a sixteen hour flight. Here are my carry on must haves:

  • Wallet
  • Passport (for international travel)
  • Sunglasses
  • Entertainment:
    • Notebook
    • Book/Magazine
    • iPad/Computer
  • Phone with Headphones
  • External Battery with Wire
  • Keys
  • Chapstick
  • Healthy Snack or Meal
  • Reusable Water Bottle (free to fill, also try to get one with a filter.)

SHOUT OUT TO JAC VANEK FOR THIS AWESOME CARRY ON BAG!

I know sometimes it can be hard to pack light, trust me I do, but sometimes carry on is the best way to go. My father is a pilot and he always told me that there are two types of luggage; carry on and lost. So if you want to make sure your bag gets to where you are at the same time as you do, go with a carry on. But remember you can only have two carry on bags, so try to get a big enough bag to put your toiletries, purse, and all in flight essentials. In addition try for a duffle bag because it is much easier to stow in the overhead compartments.

I know that when I travel I have to make sure that I have all of the toiletries that I would use on a daily basis at home. I use products that aren't going to be found in hotel showers, also if you are staying in an AirBnB they won't provide toiletries. So I say invest in a toiletry organizer like the one above, so that you have a compact space for everything you need. Here is everything on my list (starting from top to bottom);

  • Hairties (clear small ones and regular ones)
  • Deodorant
  • Perfume Roller Balls
  • Hairbrush and Comb
  • Face Masks (travel is tough on your skin)
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste
  • Clips for Hair Styling
  • Body Wash
  • Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Hairspray/Beach Salt Spray
  • Hand Soap
  • Face Wash
  • Shower Brush/Pumas Stone

I know that a lot of people say, "Sabrina you don't even do your hair on a daily basis at home. Why do you bring your curling iron on vacation?" Well here is my answer, PICTURES. When we are on vacation we take a lot of pictures. In addition the weather in different places changes what my hair does. So sometimes I need to beachwave it just to make sure that it's not a total Jew Fro, frizzy mess. Here is my shout out to "The Beachwaver". This is the only beauty item that I will stand behind for the rest of my life. I love this curling iron more than anything else, it is 100% worth the money and a must buy!
